Oreo Puddin' Poke Cake

Last weekend I tried my hand at this Oreo Pudding Poke Cake I saw pinned from The Country Cook.

The Country Cook
Here’s a lineup of the main ingredients:

Start by baking your chocolate cake in a 9x13 pan. I think I burnt mine a little bit. I’m not sure what’s going on with my oven lately but it started to overcook the cake bites last week too.

During the last few minutes or two while the cake is baking, prepare you pudding. Just whisk 4 cups of milk with the pudding mix and let it sit for 2 minutes. You want the pudding to firm up a bit but not thicken all the way.

Poke some holes in the cake. Brandie suggests using a straw or the end of a wooden spoon. I used my wooden spoon and unfortunately the end isn’t round.

Pour the pudding on top of the warm cake.

Allow the cake to cool a few minutes and then put in the fridge to set for an hour.

Garnish with crushed Oreos.

Then enjoy!

You can kinda see where the pudding filled in the hole.

The Verdict: Such a simple cake. I loved it! The combo of the pudding and cake was delicious. I would definitely make this again. I noticed Brandie had a bunch of different poke cakes and cupcakes on her website. I’ll have to try some more out.

Things to Note/Consider: If I made this again, I would poke more holes in the cake. I would also poke the holes further down a bit. Some of the pieces didn’t have a good pudding –to- cake ratio.

Another snazzy new plate gifted to me from Grace.
