Spring Wreath

This was one of my first and favorite pins. Of course the link is bad (I wasn't really checking things before pinning them back then) but a quick google search led to the original source:

Every trip I make to a craft store, I look for the green "fun fur" yarn. And in over a year I have never found it. I could find yellow, pink, blue, and even green sparkly, but never green. Finally this year, I bit the bullet and just ordered some from Amazon. I picked up green wreath form (I can't remember if its 12" or 14", but I think 14"), flower ribbon, and pins on a Michael's trip and one night last week got to work.

After more than a half hour, this is as far as I got:

This yarn is really thin, so if you want a dense "lawn", it takes a lot of wrapping. After JJ went to bed I finished (taking over an hour) and left the flowers for the next night then I was finally done. I got some yellow ribbon and hung it up on the front door (I used an upside down hook on the back of the door to hang it).

I used the ol' upside down hook on the inside of the door trick to hang it.

If I were to do it again, I would definitely use a smaller wreath. Not only did this take two full skeins of yarn (thankfully I ordered two!), it looks a little big on the door. I think it needs a little "bare feet welcome" sign too - I just haven't figured out how I want to do it yet. Overall though, I think its cute and welcoming. We had a gorgeous weekend this weekend in NJ and its finally starting to feel like spring. Hope you guys had a great weekend too!
